Welcome to the RGA Social Responsiblity pages

·      On 29th November 2006 the RGA  held a Responsible Gambling Awareness Day to highlight the importance of gambling responsibly and to raise the profile of the measures and services that are in place to help remote gamblers that might develop problems.

·      For the vast majority of people, gambling is a safe, harmless entertainment and leisure activity, but the RGA’s members want all of their customers to gamble responsibly and particularly never to gamble beyond their means.

·      As part of the Awareness Day RGA members undertook various activities including direct communication with customers, advertising with responsible gambling messaging, adding pop-ups to their websites, and reshaping home pages to emphasize the need to gamble sensibly.

AWARENESS IS THE KEY TO GAMBLING RESPONSIBLY

  • Helping customers to help themselves by raising awareness of the tools already in existence to help customers manage their gambling, the importance of never gambling more than you can afford to lose and of the sources of help and advice available is the key to responsible gambling.
  • Please see the attached press release on why we are having the day and for quotes from our key supporters.  Click here

  •  Members of the RGA have all signed up to our codes on social responsibility and age verification and have well established methods of self regulation in this area.
  • By encouraging responsible gambling and providing the right tools, support and information we can raise awareness of the signs of irresponsible gambling and help individuals to get the right help at the right time.
